Is it okay to print on plastic page protectors?

I'm going to label all of my binders for school. I was thinking putting those clear plastic page protectors through the printer to do that. Would that work? I have a laser printer and I would just be using black or white ink.

  1. Definitely not!

Ink jet printers use water based ink and the ink would not adhere to the plastic.

"Laser" printers don't use "ink" at all but a graphite resin combination that is melted onto the paper. It wouldn't melt right onto a page protector.

    However:

If you need something transparent, some companies make overhead transparency films that can be printed on for various printers. Otherwise, there are slip-case clear plastic binders where you can print a sheet and insert it. Your best bet is going to a Staples or Office Max and describing to them what to do. They will be able to show you a product that will work and won't damage your printer.
