Is it okay to require your female employees wear makeup?

The owners of the hotel I work at recently changed company names and have now decided that the female employees must wear makeup. I work full time and go to school full time and have children and I really do not have time to put on makeup. Not to mention I work at a hotel, male guests have no problem with inapproiate comments. And because I work at night I really don't feel comfortable looking my best.

I dress professionally and I am really insulted that I need to "impress" the guests by wearing makeup.

So is it justifiable to require your female employees wear makeup to work?

I have never heard of that before!  And how much is the required amount?  And do you have to wear everything or just certain products?  I think it is stupid.  I can understand asking for neat appearance but not to wear make up.  What about if someone comes in looking like a clown?  Unless you signed something saying that you would I don't think you have to.

I want reimbursement if they are going to make me wear makeup. LOL

They should pay for the cost of buying the makeup and the time spent applying that makeup. LOL
