With St. Johns Wart? I used to take Biotin (vegetarian formula) but quit when I started taking St. Johns Wart because on the back of the Biotin bottle it says consult doctor before use if you are taking any medications. It's not a prescribed medicine, it's natural, but I'm not sure if it's okay to take both. I take regular vitamins to.

  1. You're right... st John's Wort is not a prescription so the caution doesn't apply.  If  by "regular vitamins" you were taking  B vitamins or a Multivitamin then you were already taking biotin with no problem.  Biotin is a B vitamin that is water soluble and what your body doesn't need will eliminate. All b vitamins are water soluble.

  2. When it says to check with a doctor if you're taking medication, it's generally referring to drugs... it's a general rule of thumb to check with a doctor or pharmacist when taking a new supplement if you're taking any drugs... and you should always tell a doctor what supplements you are taking when they prescribe a drug.

To answer your question, taking Biotin and St. John's Wort together is no problem.
