  1. Taking azithromycin and albuterol may result in elevated risk of ventricular arrhythmias. However, these effects may be more common when the drugs are administered systemically or when recommended dosages are exceeded. Nevertheless, you are advised to seek medical attention if you experience symptoms that could indicate the occurrence of torsades de pointes such as dizziness, palpitations, or syncope.

As to your question whether the previous day's dose of albuterol may affect the antibiotic the next day, it's hard to tell since the half-life of albuterol can't be determined precisely. Approximately 72% of the inhaled dose is excreted within 24 hours in the urine, so if you get to take azithromycin the next morning, it can still get an interaction.

  2. I do not believe that those 2 medications are contraindicated together..antibiotics and albuterol are given together in the hospital all the time....call your pharmacist to be sure.

  3. The two medicines are perfectly fine to use together. The albuterol only work locally in the lungs and is not absorbed throughout the body so it will not even interact with the azithromycin.

  4. Your inhaler should not have any effect on a case of strep  throat. Your inhaler is open the passages of your lungs. If you have doubts on this, check w/ your local pharmacy or with your doctor. I use a inhaler daily regardless if I have a cold or flu, and it does not interfere with what ever infection I have going on in my body.

  5. I would say yes it would interfere with the medicine!

  6. It's okay. Those two things will not cause you any harm.
