Is it okay to walk from the NJIT campus to train station on Broad St Train Station when it's dark ?

I'm planning to apply to njit and i need to ride the train on a weekly basis. I've heard many discrepancies about the newark area, but is it okay to walk these few blocks when it's dark outside (8~9pm) without being harassed ?

I think 8 to 9 is safe, People mostly leave school at that time also so you won't be alone
