  1. You pray anytime you want and any place.

  2. Why is Allah more concerned with mirrors and pictures than your devotion to him?

  3. You are to put all things out of your mind, so you can be praying in a crowd in a park, infront of a statue and your heart is for Allah then your intention and prayer recorded inshAllah

    Takabal Allah Azeem!

Only one place you cannot pray and that is ontop of the grave.

Khair inshAllah study your deen, you are to eliminate all thoughts and things around you.  Wonder how many acctually do that and yet Allah SWT still accepts their prayers are their kids are jumping around and their wife is cranking the tv! Or yappin on the phone. :) When you go to Allah SWT it should be more special than going to anything else on the face of this earth! Make time for it and make the time well inshAllah if you care to gain the baraka and rahma your asking for! Think man!

  4. Yes, God does not care if you have pictures, mirrors, or even mirrored pictures.

The idea is to avoid distraction.

  5. no...

  6. Id have to say no. A plain room would be better for your concentration.

  7. Permitted, by who?

I say you can, so go right ahead!

  8. Nope, but Mirrors should be ok, just cover it while praying.

  9. Ideally there should be a part of your house devoted to prayers, barren of pictures and all other things except perhaps a Quran or other things along those lines.

If your praying toward the picture then I'd suggest you either cover it up or move. If the picture is behind you or far away somewhere then that's more of your call. As far as a mirror, there are so many things that reflect stuff (they even have a cellphone which has a mirror or something like that now).

Again I guess if your praying toward it then you might want to try to move. If you can't do anything about it then you cna't do anything about it.

The reason I said a room barren of most stuff is prayer should involve concentration and things like pictures tend to distract. Also the issue of the connotation produced to others when your praying and in front of you is a picture of XYZ group, or figure isn't too good. Even things like cellphones going off going on in prayer give the wrong image and far more importantly, they distract from the purpose of prayer.

Again if there is nothing you cna do about it then it just comes down to your intentions, which only you and your Creator know. =)

  10. Perhaps if they were behind you as you wouldn't see them anyway, but certainly not in the direction of the Kibla.

love for all, hatred for none

  11. cover he miror, and try to do salat where you dont have any picture hanging in front of you during salat,or you should take the picture from the wall and do salat and hang it back

  12. yes,its ok..jesus said not to pray to get attention and praise from men.

  13. i had a  roommate in college for a semester, who asked me to frame my posters so she could remove them when praying.  I did it (she even bought the frames for me) and she always put them back when she was done.  So I suppose certain religions (she was muslim) don't allow it.

  14. I can but I don't think you should.

  15. Well there are difference of opinion among scholars about pictures in general...

one is about angels not entering a home with images.  So according to that, we should not have any images displayed.

now, while praying, we face the kaaba, and not any picture or statues, therefore we must not have any images and statue infront of us.

as for mirrors, I've only heard people saying it's not good, and therefore should cover it or so, but I didn't come across any such ruling as of yet.

  16. Why not

  17. no not for muslims but some people do it

  18. I haven't heard about mirrors sis, but as for pictures, they are not permitted.
