  1. If it is something that you need ... go ahead and put it on your registry ... I did, and people from work all pitched in and bought a car seat and stroller .... and my family pitched in and got the rest of the big things :-)

  2. If it is expensive, say it is a gift for more than one person to go in on.

  3. Put the items on your registry, and if a few people want to go in together and give you one large gift, they have that option.  Or closer relatives might want to buy you a larger gift.  My mother bought one of my car seats, and my father and stepmother bought our stroller.

As long as there is a list of things in various price ranges and they aren't all high ticket items, there is nothing to worry about/

  4. y not if they get it bonus if not oh well you tried lol really thou it cant hurt

  5. It is not impolite- that is what a shower is for. Put them on your registry and if people buy them, then its less you have to buy. Normally people like your mother, your grandmother, your boyfriend/husbands mother buy something bigger like that. Like my mom bought the expensive crib set, my boyfriends brother bought a crib, my boyfriends mother bought the travel system and so on. Usually family spends a decent amount if you're close with them. I got everything I needed at my shower (we both come from rather large crazy italian familes, italians are HUGE on babies)

Besides- say you're registered at Babies R Us, and you register for the travel system and you dont get it. Well about a month or two after my shower I recieved a 15% off coupon for any purchase that was left on my registry....so therefore it would save you 15% on that travel system you didnt get. Plus, there's cheaper swings that are just as nice as....keep in mind if you have a big baby like mine he outgrows it rather quickly anyways

  6. I bought my car seat and stoller myself, but I asked for a swing, exersaucer, high chair, etc. Often times family members, co-workers, and friends like to pitch in to get one big item instead of all buying small items, so it's good to have these items on your registry!

  7. you can ask for them but also make sure to put plenty of affordable things on your registry so people dont feel akward if they cant get much :)

  8. You can register for anything you want, but also keep in mind that not everyone will want to buy expensive items.. so make sure you register for a wide range of things. The person throwing your baby shower can tell the guests where you registered if they ask when they RSVP.

  9. Try with a baby registry with some more items of course and pass the link to your baby shower's guests, family, friends, etc.

You might get them that way.

  10. Sure, you can ask for some large items.  But also be sure to put cheaper things on your list.

  11. You can ask for it or put it on your registry.  Doesnt mean they have to buy them.  A lot of people will ask what you need...and if you need them then its the truth..what you need. You will be suprised at what people will actually buy! I had a family friend buy the crib and I didn't expect that!

  12. Hey, no its not bad to ask for those... I am sure your family members would like to buy you larger items.. instead of just a couple outfits or something.. i am asking for a car seat, stroller, excersaucer, and play pen.. i know my grandma, mom, dad, and mother in law will all want to be apart of getting the larger items.. goodluck

  13. well you can make a registry at like target or babies-r-us (however i found most people didnt even look at my list they just bought me whatever) and add items like this but make sure to add cheaper items as well. people might pitch in and get you one or 2 of these items. i dont think its rude if you tell family members that are coming to the shower that these are items you absolutely need to get, becuase im sure they would rather get you things you need then endless amounts of baby clothes

  14. it's ok...my thought is why not? you don't have anything to lose. someone might get a wild hair and treat you to an excellent gift. good luck!! congrats!

  15. Of course..it doesn't mean you will get it, but definitely put on the registry everything that you need. I did.

  16. of course you can ask for those things.

i had someone else make my baby shower registry, but i got all of those things at my shower.

your shower guests are people close to you who love you and your baby, you'll be suprised at how much you'll get!
