Is it possable to injure a person with a frozen meat bullet?

i saw a show where there was a homeside where a guy used a frozen beef bullet to comit murder so as the bullet would desolve and he would not get arrested.. i think the guy used liquid nytroginto hard freeze the beef.. please aie a show on this mith thank u your loyal viewer curtis channel rusk, texas

Mythbusters tested this and they could not do lethal damage with a frozen meat bullet from any real distance.  It would be lethal if your head was right up against the barrel but if you were just a few feet away then it was not lethal.  They also tested using an ice bullet as well.  Neither of them worked.

I honestly believe everybody here is wrong - a meat bullet can kill somebody. Lets think about this.

Lets assume you load 1oz of meat into a sabot for a 3" 12 ga load. We will also assume that we get a very modest velocity of 2,000 fps.

That hunk of chicken will have a hair under 2700 ft.lbs at the muzzle. Just to give you an idea: it is 27x the energy of a 22 lr fired from a handgun or 7x a 9 mm Luger. That piece of meat has about the same energy (ft.lbs) as a .308 Winchester with 150 gr bullets. Ouch.

If the sd is 1/2 of lead, then it will still have 1000 ft.lbs at 100 yards - more than enough to be deadly.

As for it melting in the barrel, the whole slug can be put in the freezer. That will alow for the plastic sabot to insulate the meat until it leaves the barrel. As for the meat being able to withstand 2000 fps, frozen meat is very, very hard. It seems alot harder than the plastic end of a Reminton AccTip.

The whole premise of that CSI episode was bogus

First that Grisom was able to ID the bovine meat almost immediately by the type of bug begs the question

Where did the bovine bug come from so quickly in a field of human corpses

Then theres the whole frozen bullet routine

First the meat bullet is frozen then the BG loads the gun and goes to confront the molester

Any idea how quickly liquid nitrogen warms at room temp as opposed to how long it takes to reload the round and drive to meet your target with the gun in your pocket

At least the movie that used ice bullets took the round from it's liquid nitrogen container and immediately put it in the gun and then almost immediately shot the victim

There is no such thing as impossible with things like this

So yes it is possible to kill someone with a meat bullet but it is so much more probable that you're gonna p**s the guy off when he gets hit with raw sticky meat
