  1. Oh yes, I have a greenhouse full of them.

  2. Yes.  But if the tomato was a hybrid, then the seeds may not grow "true", ie, the tomato from the seed may not have the same size, taste and disease resistance of the parent.

Let the tomato get very ripe, then clean the seeds, dry them on a paper towel and save in an envelop in a cool, dry place until next spring. Six to eight weeks before the last frost date where you live plant the seeds in seed starter mix in a sterile pot.  Keep warm, in light and moist but not wet.  Once the tiny plants have at least four true leaves, transplant each seedling carefully to its own pot.  Keep warm and in a bright spot (under grow lights is best) and fertilize every two weeks with half strength liquid fertilizer.  As the last frost date approaches, harden the plants off.  Plant in the garden one week after the last frost date

  3. of course! a tomato is a tomato! dry the seeds out. and plant them in the spring

  4. i know this sounds weird and if its not gm pass it through you that's the way it was intended to germinate

  5. Yes. I am still waiting for my Sainsburys organic red, yellow, brown to fruit but I am giving up hope cos of the poor weather.

    Last year had loads.

  6. The trick is to identify the tomato type. Once that is done, look up the fruit on Google.

This will tell you if its a greenhouse type, or outdoor type. Some tomatoes thrive only under certain conditions.

Tomatoes need to be nurtured, carefully, for crop yield, and texture. By all means try it out. You have nothing to lose, and a whole new education to gain.

Carefully extract the seed, and put it onto some paper towel. Plant two to a small pot, about next April, and watch it develop.Do not put the plant outside till May, or until all danger of frost has passed.

  7. Not if it's a genetically modified plant.
