Is it possibe to install AVG Internet Security onto my Acer Aspire One Netbook?

I have just recently bought an Acer Aspire One Netbook and was wondering would AVG Internet Security work on it? It is running Linux OX and has only got 8GB memory and 512 RAM.

Should be fine and easy. Most of the Acers I've seen use some variant of Debian like Ubuntu or Mint. Check what you have on yours. If it groans Debian, then it should be a peace of cake.

Yes, you are low on RAM and HD space.

Do you really need anti-virus?  Linux is pretty robust. If you are going to evil sites then maybe you need AVG.

But for nornal life you probably don't need it at all.

Hi i don,t know way everyone is going for AVG it realy not that good

i put it on my acer it was good for to days then i had problems

it started telling me it could not update this is free but if you think anything of your pc use a paying security.

The worst thing that will happen is that it just wont install.

As noted in previous answers this security suite is not really all that necessary. If you still feel the need others have provided links. Alternatively there is probably security software either already installed or easily available from your Linux distribution or Linpus if you still have the factory installed version.
