  1. No. Our track team does a workout where we do four 400s all out with full recovery (10 minutes after each). For me, I PR'ed in the first one and then ran a few seconds slower on the second one. After that, I couldn't finish the other two because my legs were so tightened up.

  2. If you truly run 100%, it takes a while, possibly hour or more depending on how you define fully recovered and how you defined 100%,  so the answer is no. Even Jeremy Warner or Michael Johnson (when he ran) can't do 2 100% 400m runs back to back.

A good general rule is not to race unless you are running a race so running 100% for 400m in practice is not advised.

For distance runners, usually the fastest speed that repeat 400's are run is mile race pace.  In that case, it is possible to run 10 to 12 x 400m at the same pace with 2 to 3 minutes recovery between each one.

  3. No I don't think it is possible because when you do the first one you are fresh and it is harder to do the next one at the same pace when you have lactic acid in your legs and are tired..

  4. No it's not possible. Even for a 100m sprinter it's impossible to get the same times, very very rarely that happens...
