I was wondering if it is possible to make your own windmill?

Yes, it is fairly simple If you get plans from the right place. I got my plans from: http://instantproducts.info . I built the entire windmill in 1 afternoon. It wasnt hard, and my electric bill went from 400 dollars each month to 50 dollars a month. Give it a try

Cetainly. Go to the local library for plans and instructions, or search the web.

If you have the skills. And materials and plans help alot.  

People used to make them out of trees, cut into boards and ... It might be a big job.  

What will you mill? Or is it a simple electric thing?  I know of one made of a car alternator and a fan. It generated enough to keep batteries charged.  Quite simple.
