No, because the Supreme Court recently ruled that the 2nd Amendment guarantees *individuals* the right to own guns.

<sigh>  The reason you have the right to get a gun is so that you can protect you and your countrymen when the time comes that the above will happen.

That is against the Constitution. This would be a very bad idea. It is possible but would require an amendment to the bill of rights. Do you really want that?

But It would not suprise me if some liberals twist the words of the second ammendment to mean the right to bare arms, as opposed to Bear arms,

meaining that it really means we can all wear short sleeve shirts.

Possible? Sure if you can get a Constitutional amendment passed by 2/3 of the Congress and 2/3 of the states.

it will require a constitution amendment in which people will fight it for and against it. but it won't happen in your lifetime

Trying to get rid of guns would be like trying to get rid of drugs. It wouldn't work. Then all of the criminals would know that the law abiding citizens don't have a way to protect themselves, and it would be a proverbial field day. It'll never happen.
