What about the fact that Satan tried to tempt God's son? Did the devil really believe he could succeed?

  1. Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God, stated by Jesus in the first person, basically you can't tempt me.

  2. (James 1:13-15) . . .When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. 14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death. . .

Satan thought he possibly could tempt Jesus. But remember that Jesus is God's Son, not God Himself.

  3. You cannot tempt what is already fulfilled. God doesn't need anything.

  4. No, God knows everything, before it happens. How? Cuz he's God and he's awesome.

  5. It is possible. However successful is something that is impossible. Follow me here:

Satan tempts God. God sins....against who? There is no higher power than God, so God has now sinned against Himself. Jesus said that the kingdom cannot be divided against kingdom. So yes, Satan can if he chooses go and tempt God, although the point in the maneuver is left to be decided.

As for Jesus being tempted, that is just too much symbolism to explain here. Suffice to say that everyone has a wilderness experience. Jesus succeeded in His, as we should ours in the same way.

  6. Can't hurt to try. Satan is an opportunist.

  7. Yes he tried.But failed.

  8. Why was Jesus tempted? While Jesus was God, He was also man. Jesus hungered as a man, thirsted as a man, suffered as a man, and ultimately died as a man. He was also tempted as a man, yet without sin

In the story of Jesus in the wilderness when he was tempted by satan... Jesus had all the characteristics of man... the same needs and desires... so satan must really have thought he could succeed.. because he has caused every other human to sin...

  9. "God cannot be tempted with evil." James 1:13

  10. Probably not considering they aren't at all real.

  11. as you say he tried  with Jesus  no he could never tempt  God.

  12. Satan did not realize the Jesus is God existing as a man. But as a man Jesus was certainly capable of being tempted. But he chose not to sin.

God used Satan as in instrument of his own destruction. :)

1Co 1:21  For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1Co 2:7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

1Co 2:8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

  13. Satan is lord of the world.  Even christians admit that.  god is gone

  14. satan can not tempt the Father, period and he knows it. Because God would not promote him to co - god he is angry forever. Beside satan was nearly duped into worshiping Jesus once in history. God commanded all the angels to bow tho God's new creation ( the angels test btw) and satan, fearing this Adam character was in reality Jesus, would not bow thus revealing himself to God and all the angels as a haughty rebel. Now a failure and a rebel he is cast out of Heaven. satan loathes Jesus in a fiery hatred that will never extinguish. Adam, satan could accept, after all satan is made of fire and sees Adam as being made of clay. Disgusting but still he could have faked a bow. But Jesus, in satan's view, a Clay - God, he could never bow to, not in a million eons.

  15. He did and god failed because he lacks any kind of brain power
