Is it possible for a cat to get Alzheimers

My cat isn't that old, like 11 or 12 years. It's hot lately so she sleeps all the time...until she hears the squishy food can open. An hour or less later, I go in the kitchen and she's screaming at me for more food. She eats what I give her but she wants more. Does she forget she already ate or is she just hot, bored and greedy?

  1. Are you giving her enough or too much and she's just getting used to crying for more and winning the service?? Either way try not to respond to her by her cries. She's just trying to win you over on her wants. Give her what she is supposed to get. You want your cat to have a healthy weight Unhealthy weights only cause her life span to be shortened.

Alzheimer's has not been known in dogs or cats. They just get old and do weird things. They don't classify anything for dogs or cats when it comes to the elderly pets. They are just called elderly. I have dogs at my work who is 12 years old and decided to hold onto their tail and spin in circles for hours at a time until it's so dizzy it passes out. I decided to place an e-collar on him and bandage his tail up to prevent him from doing that and focus on something else. No worries on your kitty. Just hold back on her pleas!!!!!!!!!!!! Give her treats instead if she has already had her meal. This way she can't over eat.

  2. well is it possible that your cat is pregnant?

maybe she just has the poops and every time she/he eats he/she just poops it out so he/she wants more?

well if you said that your cats been sleeping allot maybe its been SLEEPING OFF her/his food!

  3. hot, bored, and greedy.

  4. just hungry or pregnant lol.  no alzheimers

  5. It's called: Feline Cognitive Disorder

We lost a cat to FCD a few years ago. She exhibited alzheimers-like symptoms for about 2 yrs prior to her death.
