Is it possible for a fish to squirt out water?

Question

I went to go feed my fish today and i see him swimming to the top of the tank to get the food before i put it in, i lift up the lid and i go to poor the food in when he squirts out water at me. Just the other day he jumped out of the tank. whats with this fish? is it even possible for a fish to squirt out water like a water gun?

Are you sure he didn't jump and make a splash,my cichlids splash me many times when I open the lid to feed them.

I was gonna answer the question yes....because i had a fish that I picked up, but squeezed it too hard and water/pee came out? I don't know about the water you might be talking about like spitting it out at you?

I know if you squeeze them the pee....

my lionfish does this when he thinks he's going to be fed.. i've also seen trigger anf puffer fish do it as well as koi and, of course, archerfish.

your either a lier or u have a amazonian archer fish it DOES shoot water becuz it eats birds and other animals ur fish may have with its tail.......
