I have been dancing for a long time but not always with formal training. I had formal training from age 3-8 but then stopped my ballet classes to try other things. I became a cheerleader until 8th grade when I began theatre where I learned a range of dancing styles. I have been performing since then and i picked up a couple informal ballet classes in highschool. I regret stopping my ballet classes because I always wanted to learn pointe and people are always telling me I have the physique of a ballerina. Obviously I wouldn't be doing this as a career, but just as a self goal. If anyone can give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated!

  1. my advice- start classes. I really don't know if your feet are strong enough, it's better to train them early.

If your teacher thinks that you have a good technique, she will put you en pointe.

    GOOD LUCK! have fun!

  2. you can try but it will be hard ive been on pointe for 2 years and ive been dancing since i was 4 1/2 so like 8 years

  3. probably not but only because you havent recently taken ballet lessons but if you would really like to then take some ballet lessons first and if you stick to it long enough and get good enough than you might be asked to take pointe lessons! good luck!

  4. I am going to say it is nearly unlikely, although not impossible that an instructor would accept you as a student at this point. You should not be in pointe shoes unless you are taking at least 3 technique classes a week, an hour and a half each and should have been studying ballet for the last 3 years.
