  1. Not really because of the massive waves of high pressure around them. Hurricanes are areas of intense low pressure, and to get this low pressure they need to put the air somewhere else, so the area around a hurricane will have very high pressure. This contributes to the 'calm before the storm'. Unless they're moving very quickly relative to each other, hurricanes will tend to push away from one another.

  2. that would be AWESOMEE

  3. A storm did overtake another storm back in 1991, which is first storm that jumps to mind with that happening. If you've ever seen the movie, The Perfect Storm, it is the story of what happened.

Here is the wikipedia article about the storm.

  4. I was watching The Weather Channel the other day, keeping tabs on Gustav, and the meteorologist said it IS possible. It has never happened, but it is possible. With the right wind speeds and rotation, it could happen.

Either the storms will collide, with correct speed and rotation, to become one, or the storms will collide and die. If they were to meet and have opposite rotations and low wind speeds, they would kill each other.

    Hope this helps

  5. Very rarely one hurricane does come near to another. In 1995 Hurricane Iris merged with Tropical Storm Karen, so that they became one larger, although not more powerful, storm.

Normally it is more likely that one storm will disintegrate in favor of the other.

  6. i dont think that has ever happened

  7. I don't think anyone knows.
