Is it possible for a new house in a subdivision to be haunted?

I think that mine is. Things move around all the time (from downstairs to upstairs). Lights flicker and doors open and close by themselves. My crucifix on the wall in the office always disappears and I always find it upside down in the bonus room closet. I sometimes hear noises when I'm the only one in the house. I'm not alone. The neighbors hear and experience the same things in their own homes.

  1. yes it is possible. definitely.

  2. your subdivision could possibly be built on some ancient indian burial ground or something

  3. Unexplainable things can be happening for a number of reasons most of the time there is eventually an explanation. The property that the complex is built on could be the cause of these things.it could be energy stored in the surrounding area.Limestone and granite have been known to give out energy that can cause unexplainable things to happen. It is possible that the complex was built on a fault line or some type of Native American sacred grounds.I have been through an experience with my family and another couple and their child when I was a child that I could write a best selling book about. It was a poltergeist Haunting that occurred over an entire night with all of us sleeping in the living room of our trailer because everyone was too scared to sleep separately.I believe in the Paranormal because of that experience.I find it to be funny that someone can believe in God just because of stories in the bible that was written by people that were a simple and unsophisticated people 2008 years ago....but they can't believe in something that many credible people have experienced.I'm referring to one of the other  answers.

  4. Anything is possible.

Firebird is right on. Also, check to find out if there were any undisclosed accidents while building your track where someone was hurt or killed.

Do other people see the objects move, or only that they have moved?  Gees -- the whole track has this.  Where are you located?  Find out all you can about the land, and rededicate it to the tribes that have been disturbed.

They had nothing but problems building the Denver airport -- ended up going with an extended tepee design as respect to the land that had been burial grounds.  They had Indians bless it too.

This could be a good house to call in that TV show Ghost Hunters -- and maybe you would get some answers.

Oh, I just saw that it is not just your house.  Definitely find out about the land.  Indian sacred ground is sacred for a reason --I respect my Cherokee relatives, and that I was born on an Apache Indian Reservation in AZ.  We lived there for 5 years, and a great deal of who I am is based in those formative years.

I cannot recall specific incidents due to other trauma, but when I start to think about it my heart races. Our house was near the burial grounds (not the Indian ones)  -- and kids told me to never go in there at night because things came out of the ground and would kill you.

A three year old develops a healthy fear of vampires -- but learns through life that there are other guardians.

I have my own totem.  The first was my panther who always walks with me, and I have a wolf, a bear, a spider, a snake, a fawn, a hawk -- sometimes other animals will enter my totem, then they leave -- they had a message for me.  They are blended into the wood I see in my mind. Except when a new one comes in -- it is a live animal, the rest of my totem comes to life as well; or when I need one specifically.  They are all there for a reason, protectors.

You would be wise to seek out an Indian Chief or Shaman and talk with him about all of this.

    AND please keep me informed.

    I am fascinated!

  5. YES.

  6. The whole area. wow

As for the airplane thing... I live less than a mile from Orlando International. We have air traffic night and day with some of the largest planes, we don't have that kinda stuff going on.

An airplane is not going to carry a crucifix into another room and turn it upside down. It is also not going to vibrate your house so much it will open doors and cause lights to flicker.

Lights flickering is usually faulty wiring and if it is a new house that is unlikely(not impossible). Just for safety I would have an electrician check especially if the whole neighborhood is doing it. It could be poor electrical contractor did the wiring.

If that checks out fine then...

It is possible that the area could hold some sort of past leading to the haunting. Definitely find out the history of the area in which you live. You can do that by googling going to the library and property records(note prop. record usually go 100 yrs back). If you town has a historical society try there.

There are other explanations other than the Indian route.

One example is: There are many settlements that once stood that are completely gone. In the U.S. many old western towns were wiped out by fevers and illness. Some had to be burned just to rid the "germs" .

    Good Luck

  7. In order for your house to be haunted you have to take for granted a number of things.

1.) Ghosts or spirits exist.  This has never been established.

2.) If ghosts or spirits survive death intact, they are able to interact with our world.  This has never been established.

3.) If ghosts can interact with this world, they can (or would choose to) interact in the manner you described.  This has not been established.

The more likely explanation is that you believe in ghosts (for whatever reason) and rather than find natural causes for what has happened you are more comfortable assuming anything anomalous or not immediately explainable as having a paranormal cause.

  8. Ah, I think you may be in a bad movie.  There's nothing in life that can't be explained, there are no ghosts or goblins, and no house is haunted.  Use you God-given intellect and figure out what's happening ... and if you can't do it go out and find someone who is grounded in logic, reason and science to help you!

  9. yes because it isnt the house that is haunted it is the property that is haunted

  10. paranormal activity has been reported in many new homes .the reported activity was found to be attached to the property or surounding area I would suggest researching the lands around your homes it takes alot of time and effort I would first look at what may be causing the things you speak of the crucifix thing you speak of is interesting but I would need alot more info on this before I would say it was paranormal see if you can find something on the area you live in such as a old graveyard or if indians had settlrd in your area or some kind of traumatic event that may have occured on this land but look for the obvious first ok

  11. Good question! I agree...I think it must be the land. Wasn't there a movie similar to this ? Can't remember the name of it. Hope it doesn't get any worse. Find a good paranormal investigator to help you...all of you.

Edit..Wonder if it could be a magnetic force or electrical..something like that. That would be better than having to live with ghosts!

  12. Yes it possible.  Hauntings are in a lot of cases attached to land as opposed to the house.
