for example, lets say a person hypnotizes someone. can the persons actions be controlled along with there personality intact?

or is this just a myth perpetuated by movies?

i also watched a documentary where the CIA were conducting experiements with ypnotism and turning people into automotons into doing what they want. i think at the end of the documentery though that idea was dispelled

  1. to a certain extent.  During such experiments science discovered that the human mind can be given command and will follow them until they reach a point where the subject feels his actions are wrong.  This means you can't make someone do something they wouldn't do when not hypnotized.  Like kill or rape or something else immoral

  2. 'Mind Control' is a sensitive word, people don't like the idea of losing control, most people want more control of their lives and the idea that their minds being controlled is frightening.

That is why there is such a stigma with regard to the mentally ill in our society, schizophrenics, the insane, all who have 'lost their minds/marbles', as this reminds us of our vulnerability to this, which makes people uncomfortable, so these mentally ill people are locked up away from society.

Mind control is possible and has been done, during the cold war the USSR and USA did many weird and unpleasant experiments, to hack the human mind, much of which the public will never know. Such as using biochips to control the biochemistry of the mind, atering mood, from a remote distance, by making the person feel high, low, angry ect. Also by interfering with the frequency ofthe human brain, whcih operates at 8Mhz or 8Hz, not sure which exactly, but once the frequency is matched via a frequency generator, it can cause histeria, confusion, and a range of problems, as seen during the Woodpecker{a name coined by the CIA} Incident in New York City when the USSR sent a remote 8Hz frequency to the NYC, causing a blackout as it caused a strange aura or glow to develop around the power lines, and more importantly, the people of the city presented with strange behaviour, far more extreme than just due o the power cut. The CIA triangulated the singal back to a satellite in the USSR.

One victim of the CIA mind control program wrote a book called 'Transforming America', she talks about strange things like mind control with Ancient Egyptian hand movements/signals and magic, as well as brain surgury, when certain areas of the brain are stimulated moods can be induced and thoughts/memories.

If your talking about mind control in terms of hypnosis, then no, a professional hypnotist will tell you that the person needs to be open to suggestion, and that people do not usually do what they don't want to. Even those people who are hypnotised to bark like a dog, are just doing it to conform, and to act silly since a valid excuse has been found, hypnotism, so this shields them from social excommunication.

Psychologists say we are always acting, depending on the situation, for instance you act differently with your friends as compared to at work, with family, or during your leisure time/hobbies. Similarly, Hypnotee's act according to the role suggested. Derren Brown, a famous British magician/mentalist/debunker showed this on TV.

The best form of mind control is to prevent someone from sleeping, not letting someone sleep for a string of consecutive days causes mental illness like depression, and even insanity. Not suprising then that many people suffering from mental illness have a distorted circadian clock, and have weird sleep patterns, being chronic insomniacs, waking early, ect.

The Japanese army did this to American soldier {the Americans where doing the same to captured Japanese soldiers, so no innocent party here}, depriving them of sleep, until many went insane, everyone has a breaking point. This is currently being done to innocent men at Guntamino bay. Sleep deprivation is being considered as a form of torture, and therefore it may be in the Geneva Convention in the mere future.

In terms of mind control, it depends on what ends you wish to meet. In doing so you will have to adjust the method of achieving the outcome desired. Derren Brown in The Heist, showed a brilliant example of mind control, making a handful of people, with no previous criminal record, rob a van full of money on the street, with a plastic gun.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Hypnotism only works if the person is willing, some people even in that relaxed state of recall are very resistant to the suggestions given to them.

  4. Yes, just look at all the Obama supporters

  5. 100% it's accucally true.

  6. Nope.  It's definitely a myth.  You can never control another person by hypnotism.  Hypnotic treatment is used to guide your mind ONLY if you allow it and you want to think the way the hypnotist wants you to think.  You always have total control of your mind.

  7. no you wouldnt be able to do that through hypnotization but look up the documentary "columbian devil's breath"

  8. sure, if you can believe that u can be u will be.

  9. naww... false false

  10. Yes it is. just take a look at the mind of the average American

  11. i have been hypnotized once. i did it to try to stop smoking. even under hypnosis i still controlled my own action. and if you want to know if it worked it did not.

  12. Absolutely.  Stalkers do this.

  13. It is my understanding that under hypnosis you will not do or behave in a manner inconsistent with how you normally behave.  Hypnosis is just a deeply relaxed, state nothing more.

  14. Studies have shown that people under hypnosis, while more susceptible to suggestion, will not do anything under hypnosis that they would consider wrong or offensive in a natural state.
