  1. Ewww, gross!

  2. Sure, if it has enough force behind it.  It's true, the eye socket is made up of bone, but it's thinner than other parts of the skull.  Plus, there's an opening in the back for the optic nerve.  It all depends on the piece of glass and how fast it's going, though.

If you break a bottle and get a fragment in your eye, it won't make it to your brain (there's a membrane around your eye that prevents things from getting back into your eye socket too).  Even a car accident probably wouldn't send out glass that fast.  You'd probably have to be standing close to a window with a bomb on the other side to get that kind of velocity.  Alternatively, it could happen with low velocity and high force (falling onto a vertical shard of glass and getting it smack in the eye).

  3. I would have to say no cause your skull is still behind your eye.... the glass would break before it went through your skull... remember that human bone is like 8 time stronger then concrete pound for pound...

  4. Sure, if it's moving fast enough.
