  1. yes it is. think of this: in our solar system, there are 4 giant planets consisting of gases. if they exist, so can pure water planets

  2. just a question before i answered "did you watch starwars 2 lately"

any way their are planets covered in ice (well a moon actually), rock, and gas (or made of gas) so yes it might be, but think of this if their is no land then storms will rise and never end, and it will be covered in clouds and eventually become frozen. that or the storms would suck all the water up and land will show so yes it is possible but were talking non-existent or very different to our natural beliefs

  3. Yes. It is possible.

  4. The largest, by far, ocean of water in the solar system is on Jupiter.

It's unlikely that there'd be nothing else than water.

Star Trek Voyager had an episode where they encountered a planet entirely made out of water.  Of course that's fiction.  And the plot wouldn't have suffered if it were a planet that was merely covered in water to a depth of over ten kilometers.  Then you might have a magnetic field and everything.  But Jupiter doesn't need a solid iron core to generate a magnetic field.  Highly compressed hydrogen becomes metallic and will do fine.

They say that Saturn's density is less than that of water.  And if you could get a big enough bath tub, Saturn would float in it.  Of course, it would leave a ring.  Very funny.  But a bath tub that big full of water would become a water planet very quickly, and suck Saturn in (it would be heavier even if it were the same size), rings and all.  It might be fun to watch.

  5. The answer is yes since they already found a planet which is fully covered in a ocean. they also know that our planet is not the norm since in space there is plenty of water and for what ever reason our atomospher and temps are just right to obtain the amont of water we have where other planets have been bombarded with larger amounts of water . all planet get bombarded with water however most are too hot and water evaporates or to cold water freezes or lacks a atomospher that can hold the water on the planet

  6. If you are looking for a planet of water, nothing but water - it is impossible. Why should only water or Hydrogen and Oxygen alone excluding all other elements exist? Highly implausible. However the greatest amount of water for any planet is found on Earth. Earth is the watery planet you are seeking. Three quarters of its surface is covered by an enormous amount of water that you keep away from. Even in planets like Jupiter or Saturn where the amount of water is many times, but as a proportion it is very less and not easy to extract (or squeeze from whatever rock!)

  7. DUDE THATS AN AWESOME IDEA!!

  8. Well it's possible to have a planet compiled of entirely gas so replacing that with water in the correct atmosphere seems plausible.

Just remember the water won't drip in to space!

  9. If by "all water" you mean the crust is covered with water and there are no exposed land surfaces, then the answer is yes.  If you mean a PLANET composed entirely of water then the answer is a resounding NO.

  10. As Richard R said - having a planet covered in water is fine

Look at Europa (moon of Jupiter).

But if we look at the gas giants - the gas gets to be under such high pressure that it is effectively liquid. and even deeper in there is something solid!.

A large fraction of Jupiter is liquid hydrogen.

There is a lot of slush on Uranus of Neptune.

But there are several probelms with making a planet out of only water.
