Question:

Is it possible for a sound to be made so forceful and so insanely loud that it dosn't make a sound?

LIke if there is a huge explosion in the universe somewhere is it possible that it is so loud that it just dosnt make a sound. Like it it is so lound that it just destroys itself and it just dosn't make a sound but you can still see the explosion? Please give serious answers.

  1. Sound could be loud enough to make you deaf and a sound wave could probably rupture your organs because its so powerful, but sound doesn't cause "explosions" and cannot travel through the universe since the universe is mostly vacuum.


  2. Sound does not travel through space. The only reason we have sound on Earth is because we have a medium, air, for the sound wave to propogate on. To answer the question whether or not a sound can be so loud it doesn't make a noise, no. A sound is a compression of molecules immidiately followed by a decompression. When an explosion occurs, it compresses the air , then decompression follows and so on until the sound wave ends.

  3. idk, but just because people can't hear it or detect it doesn't mean it has no sound, does it.

  6. yes but the only reason you can't hear it is because you are deaf from the noise being so loud.
