  1. No, it's too much land to cover.... Now if a meteor were to hit the middle of the ocean that's a different story


  2. The amount of water required couldn't be moved without a massive asteroid.

    a "normal" tsunami is usually formed from earthquakes under the ocean floor.

  3. It would have to be one d**n big tsunami.  The Rockies average about 3,000 feet.

  4. I think even a "dinosaur-killer" asteroid hitting the ocean is "only" supposed to produce a Tsunami a few hundred feet high when it hits land.  That wouldn't get over the coastal mountains.

    A country with only low-lying islands like Micronesia could get wiped out, though.
