Is it possible for a uk citizen to work in india or do i need lots of visas etc?

i have no ties with india and i only talk english i just fancy a change

not easy, depends what you do, lots of trained individuals in India.  If you work for a multi-national you might be able to get a transfer, but other wise it can be quite difficult.
