  1. yes, you just need to eat a decent balance..

perhaps you can read this page, it'll help you:

    http://www.vegsoc.org/info/iron.html

It talks about why we need iron, how much we need, and where we get it from

I'm up to 52 blood donations and gave bone marrow last year. I've never had any problem with iron levels and i certainly haven't taken any supplements in my 28 years as a veggie.

Iron deficiency is the most prevalent nutritional problem both in Britain and worldwide, veggie or not. Which does make you wonder why people say meat is such a good iron source.

  2. Iron rich foods-

-beans, including kidney, lima, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils

-iron fortified whole grains, including cereals, breads, rice, and pasta

-greens, including collard greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens

    -tofu

-vegetables, including broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, watercress, brussel sprouts

    -blackstrap molasses

    -nuts

    -egg yolks

-dried fruits, such as raisins, prunes, dates and apricots

Red wine and tomatoes help the body absorb iron into your system.

  3. Iron is a mineral, it isn't a special chemical that is produced by animals.

  4. Eat your spinach.....

  5. You can also eat fresh spinach- not canned. It is very high in iron and other nutrients.

  6. well, you dont need those tablets if you eat the right foods. Try lots of vegtebales maybe in a stir fry, or dip, or anything like that. if you just find the right recepies, and have a good hand in cooking, you'll be good. You could also try Indian food...they eat mostly vegetarian stuff...and its really good! Just make sure that you have the right combinations of foods and you'll do fine. Hope this helps!!!

  7. your question kind of confuses me but i guess your asking for vegitarian meals. ive been a vegan and vegetarian  for 6 years now tofu is my favorite food to eat and its very very high in fiber. tofu is great because you can season it and it will suck up all of the spice which makes it extra good you can also add it to some type of noodle which is also high in fiber. add allitle spinach, broccoli and many other veggies and you'll have a high fiber meal. try going to alot of viet restuarants they usually have alot of choices for vegans.

  8. eat spinachsoup. that's my favourite dish in the whole world haha. and very healthy and irony

  9. yes, i reviewed answers b4 i clicked on this - CUZ - no one bothered to mention that SEA veggies especially "Dulse" have tons of iron - more useable iron than calves liver - yep seaweeds have a whole lot of vits. & minerials not otherwise obtained elsewhere.  and if you are REALLY worried "Hyland's homeopathic IRON tonic" is very mild on system ( even for preg.  Moms) and very effective.  been a veggie for more than 25 yrs. - raised 4 boys & 2 girls all grown & still veggie raising veggie grand kids - no iron problems.  :)

  10. Iron, sure. Good sources of iron include many nuts, dried fruits (raisins, apricots), spinach, pumpkin seeds, etc.

World's Healthiest Foods has great nutritional information.

Also try the USDA nutrient database:
