  1. I'm looking for the same thing...I think the whole work visa route would be difficult seeing as the employer has to prove that there is no one in the EU or Ireland that is capable of doing the job...either way...I hope we both find our way to Ireland....

  2. Hi

The way work permits work in Ireland is that you must be hired by an employer while outside of Ireland.  The employer applies for your work permit.  Now it does not mean that you have to stay with that job.  Your permit will be good for two years.

Now you cannot go to Ireland and just look for work and apply its not allowed unless you have a work permit and the only way you will get one is like I said.

Now if you are in some type of public service or it you can apply differently because you are part of a group of services that they need in ireland

Go online and apply with Monster Ireland, Jobs.ie, there are a lot of sites for submitting your resume.  Also look for jobs relating to students or young people working in ireland.  Google it there are a lot of agencies.

    Medical Doctor

    Nurses

    Social Worker

    It people etc.......

  3. yes it is but you would need a work visa

  4. yes it is but we want our jobs for ourselves thanks very much

  5. Sure you can - but you'll always be The Yank.

  6. I take exception to Orla's answer. Obviously, she holds something againist this guy, and she doesn't even know him! I never judge people on basis of where they're from, until I get to know them, so Orla must be a very bitter, jealous, and prejudiced soul. I am an American who is doing just that, thank you very much. Also, there is no need to give out to us Yanks, we are very kind (in general) to visiting Irish, in our country, it's just sad that the reverse is not always the case. Anyhow, I'm sure you are a very kind and decent young man, and there's many an Irish person who will comment on your good manners.

  7. You would need to start with applying for a work/residence visa.  See 2nd site below to research this.  See 1st site or a book on living and working in Ireland.  3rd website is a Yahho group for Ireland...so you may submit questions and communicate with people living in Ireland.
