Is it possible for an electric keyboard to be out of tune?

The keyboard at my school always seems to be out of tune with the guitars and everything. The guitars are perfectly in tune, and there is no way to alter the tuning on the keyboard. Is this possible? And could it have been caused by the keyboard dropping on the floor numerous times?

Can an electric keyboard be out of tune?

Thanks

  1. It might be broken.

  2. The clock for your audio oscillators may have changed frequency.  This would put everything off.  Does it appear that all the tuning is off by the same amount for all keys?  If so, this would be a likely cause.  The most likely cause of this happening is a capacitor changing value but possibly a resistor.

  3. Hiya !

It's very unlikely the keyboard is out of tune - the pitch of the individual notes are stored as a program on a microchip - no way to alter that unless you re-program the chip !
