Is it possible for an x-ray of your foot to be wrong?

Question

yesterday at about 4:00 pm i dropped a grocery bag of cans on my foot.

about two hrs later my foot was in so much pain, and it was black and blue and swollen.

so i went to the er at about 8 last night and they x=rayed my foot and stuff and the doc told me that my x-ray looked fine and that i muct have bruised it or something.

and to take advil and keep it propped up.

i couldnt even sleep last night b/c the pain was so intense and this morning my foot is still swollen and black n blueish and its hurting so so so bad.

its by far the worst pain ive ever been in.

so im just curious could they bee wrong?

i looked up my symptoms and it sounds like those of a hairline fracture.

Yes, he could definitely be wrong. On Monday I would call a orthopedic doctor to make an appointment. Make sure you tell them that you were in the emergency room so that you will get an appointment soon. If its really still bothering you, I would go back to the emergency room. Good Luck......

sometimes fractures dont show up on xrays that are taken too soon.my mother recently broke 2 bones in her anklenad the initail er xray only showed one ,i would if you have good insurance go back and see again, but really what can you do, i would just take some pain med sna dgo back if our reall worried and then ask them for a prescription if it still hurts.

Get a second opinion.  It's possible that you may have a hairline fracture and probably almost impossible to see.  Get a second opinion.
