  1. I think they can dream my dog wimpers and barks in her sleep...She will even sometimes jolt awake like something jumped at her.

  2. i think they dream...and some time we can control our self in dreams

  3. yes animals dream, you've never seen a sleeping dog whimper and move its legs?  I think that any animal that sleeps, dreams.  Also you can control your dreams it's called lucid dreaming.  For most ppl its very rare, happening maybe once in a lifetime.  Some ppl can do it frequently, like 1-2 times a week I think, but they have exercises they do to help them.  There are websites that tell you what these exercises are, if you're interested.  Idonno what they are but you can do a search.

  4. Yes animals, I don't know about all, but dogs do dream.  Watch your dog the next time he/she's sleeping.  Mine has twitched, yelped, cried, even did like a sucking noise when she was young.

You cannot control what you do in a dream and sometimes you can have a dream over again.  I think, at least it's worked for me sometimes, that if you think of that dream (or what was in the dream) while you're laying there...then you might dream it again.

  5. yes my dogs feet get moving when she dreams she even barked in her sleep and woke herself up it was soo funny

  6. Dogs and other mammals, yes.

For fish and bugs, however, the speculation is that they have something like a three second memory, so it seems unlikely that they dream

  7. Haven't you ever watched a dog whine or move like it is running in it's sleep sure they dream.

If you dream something more then once your mind is bringing that subject back to you again and again because your subconscious is trying to bring that problem or fear to your conscious.  You need to pay attention.

    Hope it helps.

  8. I believe that when I was younger I used to have reoccurring dreams. I remember having this one nightmare I was falling off of a cliff near a waterfall holding my little dog. When I suddenly woke up the dog was sitting next to my bed. She rarely ever went upstairs and slept in the laundry room. She and I both had a strong fear of deep water and heights.

  9. ten possibilities, however only one way to find out. Blow your breath in that animal's face, then wait for an akward re-action.

  10. Yes, animals dream. You can see dogs and other pets at your own house, moving and jerking their legs and other organs while sleeping without any other insect or animal touching them. This shows they dream as we do.

  11. Yes.  Animals enter R.E.M. sleep quite often.  Just ask a dog, if they dream about chasing bunnies.

  12. Yes. My dog dreams at least once almost every night. I can tell by the movements and noises she makes because she sleeps right next to me.

And yes, you can control your dreams sometimes if you get into the right phase of sleep to start. It takes practice for most people, and does not work every time. I've done it many times, but I wasn't planning to. Look up lucid dreaming.

  13. Yes just observe them, it's just as funny as watching humans

  14. It is very possible that animals with more complex brains dream. There is a strange concept that some people stick to like glue, that we need to be in REM to have dreams. This is completely wrong.

I would imagine any animals that play probably have dreams. Play indicates that an animal can get bored, which indicates a very complex processing. Animals like fish, insects, and lizards live thier lives searching for food and surviving. They don't engage in playful, or unpractical activities. There brain functions are a much more primitive level, and its unlikely that they have dreams.

Lucid dreaming is a technique for controlling your dreams. This occures naturually in the form of flying and falling dreams. It can be induced with practice. It require relaxation, and keeping your sleep light.

  15. yes. they do dream.  dogs sometimes move their legs as if they are running for something.  Some even whimpers.  I've heard that you can make nightmares into a good dream.  I just don't know how they do it.  I think it is about knowing what you're seeing is a dream and making it as an advantage.

  16. Why not?  Sometimes sleeping dogs give pretty good indications that they are dreaming.  It's really funny stuff, so check it out.

  17. i really like that question. im going to star it. and yes they can. in some ways they are like people. have you considered being a model?

  18. Yes. But their dreams are very uninteresting, believe me.

  19. Im pretty sure they can

  20. most sientists believe that dreams are caused by REM (rapid eye movement)  that is when ten brainwaves form the apropritate paternorsomething the only other animale found to have rem is the dolphin or maby there the only ones dont but thats just a theory

  21. my dog dreams often, barking during sleep, and moving the feet like she's running.

  22. i think they can dream becuase my dog when he is sleeping will randomly start wagging his tail

  23. My dog barks at something all the time while she is sleeping so I can only assume she is dreaming about chasing a cat or something else.

  24. Yes animals,  at least higher animals, like dogs dream. I don't know if anyone has even looked for REM sleep or equivalent in fish and frogs. Yes you can control your dreams first by thinking about what you want to dream about before falling asleep and then by becoming lucid (lucid dreaming) within your dream.

Dr. Stephen LaBerge has done extensive work on this subject. I have included a link below.

  25. Yes, you can control it...just practice.
