Is it possible for birds to poo whilst flying??

I heard recently that its not possible as they have to tense whilst in flight...however I dont think I believe this from previous bird pooing experiences....

I cant speak of pigeons and other birds but I know for certain that seagulls do.  They could quite easily do it on the shores but save it for people who intrude in their territory.  Seeing a nature film on TV seagulls do this not only on people but other birds and animals.

Yes they poo during flight ...During migration the birds are in the air for hours its natural to poo to loose more weight

Whilst performing extreme aerobatics, birds can indeed, poo whilst flying.  They do so, however, at their legal peril since befouling private property is, at best, a misdemeanor in most localities.

Birds instinctively know where the appropriate "pooing trees" are located.  This is something that's inbred in them from millions of years of evolution.

Once positioned on the "right" pooing branch, they wait until a human is within target range and only then do the appropriate sphincter muscles release said poo on the unsuspecting human.  This alleviates any liability for violating local codes.

I hope this assisted in furthering your knowledge of this, heretofore unknown practice within the avian community.

To my knowledge seagulls use it as a form of attack and if you want complete proof come and have a look at my car!

Yes, they s**t all over my car, as they leave the nearby trees, they seem to know when I've washed it.

Yes they can definitely p**p and fly at the same time. Some use it as a defence mechanism to protect their young from predators (and nosey humans!)

Birds don't have an a**s, they have a cloaca and it has no muscular control. they let fly while sat, while flying, while walking - when a load is ready out it comes, they have almost no control.

they don't have to be relaxed to p**p in the air.  Their c**p is pretty loose.  And yeah they do it in the air.

Well don't know a definitive answer here but when I say that I have seen bird poo flying onto my car from above with not a tree in sight, it suggests that they can almost certainly commit fly-bys!

The word is defecate.  Birds defecate while flying all the time.
