Is it possible for Firefox to open a new tab on a website rather than a blank page? So, when i open a new tab i can automatically be on a website such as google?

  1. Kinda.

    Go to Tools > Options, and go to the "Main" tab.  At the top, you'll see a the settings for startup and homepage.  You can set it to start on either your homepage, a blank page, or whatever windows and tabs you had open last time you closed it.

  3. That's worked for me before... I mean probably not in the same sense. If I were to click on a link that weren't attached to the page (in other words opening a new window) it would open in a new tab, automatically loading that page.

    Well, because I received a thumbs down, maybe this doesn't work for all people. I have Firefox 3 and also downloaded "Tab Mix Plus" as an add-on. Try going to the add-on website and searching for this. You can customize tabs and control how your windows open in what.
