  1. It would be possible, but would require selective gene therapy, or that kind of thing.  A bit like how they can choose hair and eye colour, it may be possible to activate the tail gene from when we were monkeys!


  2. All humans have a "tail" during the first few weeks of embryonic development, but it is absorbed into the body as the embryo continues to develop. In rare cases people have been born with a protrusion of their tail bone or blood vessels and muscle.

    Since the growth of appendages happens only during development inside of the womb, a person would be unable to naturally grow a tail after birth.

    I've never heard of anyone growing a tail during their lifetime though.

  5. You'd have to be born with the tail gene (which is a remnant from what monkeys had) turned on, but it would be a crappy little tail.

  6. There are rare human deformities where babies are born with what looks like a tail.  Usually it is cut off at birth.  But no, a human can not grow a tail.  We humans did not evolve from monkeys.
