  1. go to the local deliver y office and set uop a ' call and collect' service

    you need ID for this

takes about a week to do

my mate does this every day -

  2. you have to wait or get it sent another way

  3. by law the item as to be delivered to the address  in theory if you are stood on the path when the postman comes he is still obliged to put it through the letter box  so the answer is NO

  4. Generally the timings in Indian Post Offices are 10am to 5pm daily (diffirent countries have their own times). So,it is not possible for you to collect your valuables at 7am.Then,you can collect them during their office timings, while going to your office or any other work,if it is very urgent or confidential.Otherwise, you would've to wait your postman,or you can request to the postman of your area to drop your post at your residence.

  5. If you are not at home when the delivery arrives, a card will be left in your letterbox and you can collect the post from the sorting office.  If it is special delivery or similar, you will need to take some identification with you.  It does no harm to take it anyway.  It should be something fairly recent and contain your name and address (like a gas bill or credit card statement).

  6. No wait in for it that could save you other problems
