  1. I JUST answered a UW question the other day so I figured I'd just copy my answer if that's okay because it's quite long (I changed some):

I'm planning on going to UW too!

I looked up the stats on SparkCollege today, which should be accurate:

    ADMISSIONS FACTORS

    Difficulty level: moderately difficult

Average freshman high school GPA: 3.69

Average freshman SAT verbal score: 592

Average freshman SAT math score: 624

    Average freshman ACT score: 24

But here is what they value:

    Very Important

    Application essay

    Academic GPA

    Rigor of secondary school record

    Important

    Extracurricular activities

    Character/personal qualities

    First generation

    Talent/ability

    Standardized test scores

    Volunteer work

    Work experience

    Considered

    State residency

    Not Considered

    Alumni/ae relation

    Level of applicant's interest

    Geographical residence

    Interview

    Racial/ethnic status

    Class rank

    Recommendation(s)

    Religious affiliation/commitment

I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in as long as you have a good application essay and whatnot. It's pretty easy to figure out your chances with the above data! :) Good luck.

I might recommend trying the ACT (or the SAT again) if you haven't already though, and aim a little higher since your SAT scores are below UW's average. I'm sure your GPA and other things could make up for it though.

I do know someone who got in the mid 1600s on her SAT and got accepted no problem, with about everything else (GPA, extracurriculars, APs) the same as yours. You might want to shoot for at least that to be positive about your acceptance. They say your score goes up about 100 points each time you take it without any studying anyway.
