Is it possible for me to move out of my mom/stepdad's house at 17?

without being emanicapated.. I am not getting along with my step dad .. and there have been many times i have ran away but the cop would bring me back home. i told him i didn't wanna go back.. he told me i have to be 17 1/2 to move out and there will be nothing they can do.. is that true? I really just wanna move to my grandparents house but my mom doesn't like them so she says no. plz help me with this

legally without being emancipated, your mother has the final say in where you live until you are old enough. sorry. this is because she is considered your legal guardian.

I sincerely hope you're exaggerating about what the cop said, because he's wrong. The magic age is 18.  Move out the day you turn 18 if you want, but I promise you you'll miss it someday.
