Is it possible now? No. Rookie and open training camps have closed up for most teams as the season gets going in a few weeks.

There has only been once instance I know of where somebody has made it without having played college ball.  Johnny Scott made the Shreveport Pirates and went on to play for about 12 years in the CFL.  All teams hold open tryouts which you can attend (as already mentioned, it's too late for this year), but realistically, you're competing against guys who have played in NCAA Division I, I-AA, or CIS in Canada.  Many of the guys have Arena or NFL Europe experience too.
