Is it possible for more than one hurricane to form,and make landfall simultaneously,and on the same land mass?

  3. It could be but usually highly unlikely.  As right now we have Gustav about ready to make land fall in the Gulf, and Hanna possibly hitting the Keys. As we have more than one coast there a hurricane could hit, it is possible for more than one hit at once.  

  4. Yes. We could have a hurricane making landfall in the Caribbean as for instance Belize while another is making a landfall in New York state.

    These would have originated off the coast of Africa  at different times, followed different courses at different rates of speed.

    But what importance  would one attach to exactly simultaneous?

    The odds on them arriving at exactly the same time would be very long against.  One could safely bet against this event.
