I would like my gf to apply for a B-2 Visitor Visa in her country and will be financing her entire trip. I do not want her to apply for a K-1 Fiancee Visa because I'm not ready to get married yet. She is divorced with two kids and they will be staying with her family if she comes to visit me. She explained to me that she can't get a visa because:

1. She currently doesn't work.

2. She has less than $100 in her bank account.

3. She doesn't own anything (Land, House, etc..)

4. She only speaks Spanish.

5. She doesn't get along with her family.

Is she right that she can't get a visa even though I've been supporting her since she lost her job and will be financing her entire trip.

  1. yeah, she's totally right. it doesn't matter who's financing her trip to the US... what matters is that she's able to prove to the consul that she has enough economic ties to her home country that will prevent her from violating the terms of her visa.

because she does not have any assets, it would be tough to prove to the consul that she'll return home and will not be marrying you while on a tourist visa.
