  1. no i dont think so because she would need to sign a contract and in order to sign a legal binding contract you have to be 18 or older

  2. Go back to the place where they say she doesn't need a license, and remind them that she is married.

Normally, people under 18 cannot be legally held liable to contracts they sign, but being married, your wife is no longer a minor for purposes of contract law.

  3. Under 18, she cannot sign a contract. I agree she doesn't need a license, but she has to be able to sign a contract. Where do you live - Utah?

  4. She need to be 18, have a job, with good credit standing...no license needed.

  5. Absolutely not. The other answers are close, but are still missing the point. Here in Illinois, as I assume other states would follow, in order to own a car, you have to be 18. It doesn't matter if she's married & 17. IL law states you can't be on a title unless you are 18 & also no credible lender will give you money for a car if anyone on the deal is under 18. The problem is credibility. Simply being 18 now means nothing to lenders. There is no credit history to verify you are a good person to lend money to. Also, if you have no license, who will sell you insurance? Every lender requires, under law, that every car be insured. If you try to get insurance on a car & have no license, you will be immediately rejected. All insurance companies run a driving history when you are a new customer. I'm sorry if you are having problems. But getting her a license isn't difficult. Time consuming as h**l, yes. But, it sounds to me like you are in a big hurry. Slow down & learn the law. Violating or trying to violate the law will bury you.

  6. The Licence is not relevant, but she will have to be 18 years old to sign on her own. However she is married to you (and I assume you are over 18) so if you wish you can joint sign as your signature makes the contract legal... Why does she need to be on the contract ? Why not buy the car yourself ?
