Is it possible to take a hpt 'n a blood test at the dr. 'n they both be negative but still be pregnant? Just barely pregnant? I posted a question earlier today but only got 2 answers 'n neither of 'em helped me. I'm experiencing' horrible cramps, period like, but have been for a week. My fiance 'n I were intimate last night 'n when I used the bathroom this mornin' I was bleedin', it was bright red, not brown. I've taken 2 hpt's 'n both showed negative.. went to the dr. for unrelated problems but asked for a pregnancy test because of sore b*****s 'n that test came up negative. Just got off the depo in April 'n only spotted twice. I need help. Is it possible?!!

  1. Yep it is possible...

  2. its possible to get a false negative if you test tooo early but...a blood test at the docor I'm not sure about. you should def talk to your doctor and he/she can do more testing and see whats going on!!! I hope everything is okay! good luck!

  3. It is always possible that you coukkd be taking the test too early, blood tests are more accurate than pee sticks but again they can only tell if your pregnant after a certain amount of time so its a tricky one. If you come of depo a few months ago it can take up to a year for your body to get back into a natural rythym so I wouldnt be too worried.

When you are due on then you do get signs of pregnancy even though it is just because you are due your period.

I would leave it a week and then do another test is no sign of period because the hcg hormone doubles every 2 days so in a weeks time it would more than likely say possitive if you were preg.

    Good luck!

  4. When I came off the depo I had all kind of symptoms of pregnency but was not pregnant I was on the depo for 2 years and it took me over 2 years to even have a period. I would say your probably just starting your periods back after being on the depo.

  6. Its either that you really aren't pregnant or it's too early. A blood test is as accurate as you can get so its possible that you aren't pregnant.

If you just came off Depo and don't have a regular period then its not likely you will conceive yet, it took me over 3 years after coming off it!

  7. if you had a blood test and it was negative then you arent pregnant...at home urine tests can sometimes give a false negative if you took it too early before your expected period or if you didnt use first morning urine because it is most concentrated. Maybe your just having a wierd month with cramps and your period...that happens sometimes, but if you have been to the doctor and had a blood test that was negative then you are probably not pregnant

  8. i think so

  9. It's been known to happen with hpt's, but a false negative with a blood test is actually pretty rare, because they are so sensitive.  You said you got off the depo shot in April.  I have a feeling that they symptoms you are experiencing are related to your body readjusting itself.  Sometimes this takes a while.  I've heard of women taking up to two years to conceive after getting off the depo shot.  If you want to help things along, try some Vitex.  It's available at your local health food store, and is used to help regulate a woman's cycle.

  10. Nope, you're not pregnant. A negative test from the kind where you pee on a stick can be wrong but not the test you describe and certainly not twice. It seems to me that your period pattern is trying to return to normal. Also, while you were on the depo your cramps may have been lessened when you had a period (if you had any period at all, that is.) so you may be experiencing more painful cramps now you're off it.
