  1. It is possible to teach a child with a low IQ how IQ tests work and then have them take the test and get a high IQ, doesn't say much for IQ tests does it? Intelligence is so much more complex than IQ. With the right combination of factors it is possible for children to succeed where their parents failed or fail where their parents succeeded.

I was trying to highlight the problem with IQ alone being used as a measure of intelligence. If you have a high IQ but can't wire a house or fix a car then are you any more or less intelligent than someone with a lower IQ that can?

  2. Yes, it is completely possible.  My parents are both in the lower average range and I scored a 166+.

  3. To the person above who says you can teach a person with low IQ how to do the IQ test and get a high score. That is called practice effect, and any psychologist who administers the test should be aware of any factors like that which would skew the results. The test results for that child obviously wouldn't be taken into account. This is one reason why IQ tests are not available to the public and are only administered if necessary.

  4. what kind of a fukced up question is this?? of course it is possible... it's called education!! duh!!!
