Is it possible for people to live in the rainforest?

I'm not talking about tribes that live in there...

I'm talking about regular people. Could I move to the rainforest if I wanted to and build a house in the middle of it? If not, who would be the one stopping me?

Most rainforests left in the world are Nationally protected parks - you would have trouble buying land on which to build your home!
