Is it possible for plants to do this? I just saw the movie "The Ruins"?

I just saw the movies the Ruins and I was wondering if it is really possible for plants to grab people and wrap around them. Also there were flowers in this movie that made awkward sounds. I know this might seem like a dumb question but I'm serious lol

Google it... there are many plants in the rain forests which are carnivorous (they eat meat). I'm sure you have seen a Venus Fly Trap.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but it sounds interesting.

It is not a dumb question as many uninformed ( About botany only and NOT otherwise !!) people have weird ideas about plant .

It is not possible for the plants to grab people and wrap around them as one sees in a wrestling bout .

There is no flower that makes awkward sound .

It is all in the 'make believe' world of movies !!!

There are insect eating plants as mentioned by others , But they are Puny as compared to a normal human .

There only a few 'carnivorous' plants, and they do not 'move' like you see in the movies.

A Venus Flytrap can shut on an unsuspecting fly but they don't get big.
