yesterday i let my pet rats out from around 9pm till 1am they wern't running around for all this time, and they occasionally went back to the cage for a little rest and some food but when it was time to put them back in their cage they were acting like they wanted to come out again, i had to go to college next morning so i couldnt let them out again and i never let them out past 1 anyway, but i was just wondering if this was ok for them or if its too long for them to be let out for?

thanks

sam :)

  1. yes it is it 's not good for them

  2. i think that letting them out for that long is fine. it's not like u had mini whips and were making them do strenuous exercize while they were out. they'll know when they are tired and act accordingly

  3. That's just fine! As long as you want to keep them out is great. If they get too tired they'll just lie down somewhere outside the cage or go back in. It's always good to have them out and interacting with you and their environment. Rats are nocturnal so they were probably delighted with the playtime during the night!

  4. Since they don't naturally live in cages, being out of the cage for a long time doesn't do any harm (as long as they are in a safe place).  They will rest when they need to.
