Is it possible for someone to send a virus to a phone from a call??

I keep getting these random calls from texas, and then my phone acts weird!! whats going on!!!

  1. More information is needed about your phone system setup to answer properly.  

    But, if your phone is a standard PSTN landline phone, then I would say no, it cannot get a virus.

    Even if you were using VoIP phone service with, or without a PC, I still don't think you can get a virus based on phone calls received.  (IM with file transfer is a different story.)

    The calls from Texas are probably just either prank calls, mis-dialed calls, or mis-directed calls to your number.


  2. Yes and no. Yes, if the virus was made for the phone. This would he very rare, because different phones are programed differently. If the virus was made for windows, then it would be impossible to get it on your phone. So yes it would in theory be possible, but i don't think many hackers would bother with that. It would be more productive for them to make a virus for one of the big three OS's (windows, mac, and linux). I would just block the number if i was you.

  4. potentially if you sent a message to an e-mail address and a file was sent to your phone (Wallpaper and theme for phone adverts)
