Okay I posted a little bit earlier about my hamster having diarrhea. But it has seemed to just have.. Stopped?

His lower half doesn't seem as wet now. And I really don't want to take him to the vet, have him be put on medicine, and not even have wet tail in the first place.

Is it possible that it was just a one time thing?

  1. it is possible for it t go away but it can come back disinfet the cage and it hould stay away

  2. Wet tail is an extremely serious illness that often leads to death. It will not away on its own without treatment. On the contrary, even when wet tail is treated it is sometimes too late simply because of the severity of the infection. Only a vet can tell you whether your hamster has something else, but the vet will not treat him for something he does not have.

You really cannot afford to mess around with this - take your hammie to the vet. You are taking a huge risk attempting to diagnose yourself or via help over the internet.

  3. Hamsters can sometimes get diarrhoea from eating too much fresh food.  It is not the wet tail disease if this happens but more of a stomach upset and it should clear up fairly quickly.
