  1. Yes!!!

I am online with at least 3 other twin moms who had early ultrasounds where they missed twins!

It's easier to miss identical twins who are sharing a placenta.  All my friends who had a missed twin in an early ultrasound had identical twins sharing a placenta.

I'm pregnant again and I told the ultrasound tech to look EVERYWHERE to make sure that they weren't missing anything since I already had twins.  lol

It was really just one baby.

  2. Yes one baby could be behind the other baby.

  3. Yes, my godmother had her first ultrasound and she was told she was having one baby.

The next time she went back she was told she was having twins.

The next time she went back she was told she was having triplets!

She didn't want to go back again!

She ended up having identical boys and a girl.

  4. yes it is possible i had friend who thought it was just one went back to the dr. and there were two one was on the other side behind the other.

  5. A friend of mine did. At nine weeks, they saw one baby, at 20 weeks, they saw two. She delivered twin boys last September. Good luck!

  6. Yes it is possible I have heard of this happening several times. They can usually pick up the second heart beat though. I have an aunt who was pregnant with what we though was twins and she gave birth the triplets.

  7. I'm sure it's possible especially for an early ultrasound.

  8. Yes in twins the babies tend to hide behind on another. But why do you think you are having Twins?

  9. Early ultrasounds will show two if there are twins because they are small but I have known in some cases for a baby to hide in later ultrasounds but I think around 6-12 wks they can usually see if there is more than 1

  10. Yes it's possible.  But they usually will pick up the second heartbeat when checking.

  11. Yes it is possible...I've heard of people giving birth and one hiding behind to the other (in ultrasounds) to find out on delivery there's two! So good luck!!

  12. It's possible. We knew at our first ultrasound, it was very obvious. One of my close friends is pregnant with twins and the tech. didn't even know that it was twins until 27 weeks!! 1 was completely hidden and their heart beats were in sync with each other.

    Good luck!
