O.k. I just ot my first job working at the boys and girls club. Well I work three hours a day at supposedly 7.50 an hour. So my boss gave me a permission slip that said I get paid $250 every three weeks. I don't think this is fair. With this arrangement I work 45 dollars a week and get paid 5.56 dollars per hour. Isn't it against the law? Before confronting my boss, I want to know for sure though. Some one Help!! PLease!!!

P.S. Please give factual and reliable answers. Thanks.}

  1. Something doesn't sound right. I live in New York City and the minimum wage over here is 7.25 per hour. I suggest you find out what the minimum wage is where you live. Also, are you of age to work? I know here in the City you have to 14 and over. If you are underage to work then that could be the reason why he is trying to mess with your money. If you are of age to work then do not sign an agreement to short change yourself.

  2. The only thing that I can think of is that the $250 every three weeks is your "take home pay".  Meaning that is the amount of money you will recieve after taxes.

    That add's up to $250.
