Is it possible for your contact lens to slip behind your eye?

  1. No it is NOT possible for it to slip behind your eye, the eye does not have a space beind it. Sometimes though a contact lens (especially a hard or gas permeable one) can seem to "disappear" from you eye. It has, in fact, gone up under your eyelid.

    If this happens - do not panic. It will come out.

    Put some lubricant (eye drops, contact lens solution or even water) into your eye and roll your eyes to coat them with the lubricant. Then press round the top of the eyelid at the eye socket and this should loosen the lens and move it to part of the eye where it is easier to get out.
